It is easy to feel determined and motivated at the beginning of your new weight loss plan. But after a while, people give up because their dream seems too far away. How is it that certain people can lose the weight and keep it off? There must be some magic chemical that makes this possible! What is it?
First, you need to develop specific goals for losing weight. Is there a particular clothing size you need to fit into? Do you have a weight in mind which you would like to achieve? Do you want to feel better?
Set a goal to keep track of your progress every week. Check your weight every week, and keep a journal of what you eat. Keeping a food journal of everything that you eat is an excellent way to see what dieting changes you need to make.
When making decisions about what to eat, do not do it when you are starving. If you want to stay away from this danger, plan out your meals in advance and have healthy snacks handy. Pack a healthy lunch and brown-bag it instead of eating out to both save money and enjoy a more nutritious meal.
The two staples of any weight loss plan are diet and exercise. Try to find an exercise routine you find appealing, and make sure you complete it at least three times weekly. If you find that simple exercise is a drag, integrate it into the things you like doing already. Do something physical like hiking or dancing the next time you get together with friends. If you love to dance, think about taking a class – the options out there are endless. Are you a fan of the great outdoors? Step outside and go on a good, long hike.
The first thing you should do is purge your home of all junk food. Removing junk food from your kitchen and replacing it with natural healthy foods will help you avoid unhealthy temptations. If you get rid of foods that are unhealthy from your house, you will not have access to any of those snacks that add to your weight.
Workout with someone you know. We can often make excuses if we only answer to ourselves and ignore our responsibility to stay healthy. You will be able to motivate each other. You can also help each other by giving helpful advice, motivation when needed and encouragement when someone reaches a hump in their weight loss journey.
