Keep a record of your progress. Write things down, such as caloric intake, foods you ingest and beverages you choose. Be sure to weigh yourself weekly and create a journal. List the foods you eat in a daily food diary that is part of your journal. Writing down what you put into your body will make you more aware of your choices, inspiring you to make healthier decisions.


If you are hungry, you will tend to choose your foods impulsively. The focus is not on finding the healthiest options – you simply want to eat something immediately. Therefore, you should have healthy items with you at all times and schedule your meals ahead of time. Take the time to prepare for your meals and pack them up beforehand so you do not have to buy fatty takeout. Making this change will reduce the calories you take in and also your food costs.


Being able to balance healthy eating and exercise is the key to permanent weight loss. It is important that you exercise three times a week or more. Having fruit as a snack is an excellent choice for people of all ages. There are many other healthy snacks, as well, including granola.


Ask your friends for help. Friends are people who will help you in times of need. Be sure to gather supportive people around you. Your friends can be there to motivate you when you really need it. Don’t hesitate to contact them if you are having a rough time.
