Defining your goals should be a priority on your weight loss journey. What goals do you have that are related to your weight loss? Do you want to be able to wear clothes in smaller sizes? Is there a particular weight goal that you have in mind? Do you just want a healthier body?


Keep track of your weight loss. Keep a record of your weight from week to week. In the same book, create a food diary. Hold yourself accountable,and write down each thing that you eat. Writing it down will make you more conscious.


When you feel like you are starving, you are more likely to grab the first thing that comes along, even if it happens to be bad for you. Avert disaster and temptation by carrying a healthy snack bar with you at all times. It is much wiser to take your lunch to work or school, rather than eating out. Packing your own meal gives you more control over the calories you consume, and will help you avoid the over-indulgence that occurs when you dine out. In addition to cutting back on calories, bagged lunches are also cheaper than eating out.


The most successful weight loss programs combine a good exercise program with healthy, nutritious meals. Setting aside a fixed time each week to exercise regularly will improve your stamina and energy. If you do not like to exercise a lot, look for physical activities that you do like, and do them regularly. Get your friends to walk with you. If you do not want to walk, consider dancing.


Don’t leave tempting but unhealthy treats in your house. You can’t give into temptation if rich, fatty foods aren’t available. Stock your kitchen full of healthy foods you love. The harder it is to eat unhealthy food, the less appealing it will be, and the less you will consume.


Find a workout buddy. If we are on our own, we often make excuses to relieve ourselves of more difficult responsibilities. When you have a friend in the exercise mix, you’ll tend to be more motivated to persevere through tiredness and frustration. Friends help by giving support and motivation.
